Friday 21 October 2011 – 50 years pushing strong.

WS NSW celebrated its 50th year anniversary on Friday 21 October at Waterview Convention Centre in Bicentennial Park. It was a fantastic night of celebration, great fun, get together and a trip down memory lane. The night featured speeches from representatives of each decade: Daphne Hilton spoke of the 60’s, Associate Professor John Yeo AO the 70’s, Chris Sparks the 80’s, Louise Sauvage OAM the 90’s and Kurt Fearnley OAM the 2000s.

Close to 350 people attended the dinner and it proved to be a night of delightful reunions. It was wonderful to see so many members, volunteers, supporters and friends in the same room.

WS NSW wants to once again congratulate; Tristan Knowles for being awarded the Athlete of the Year, Michael Auprince the Junior of the Year, Ben Osborne the Coach of the Year and the Wollongong Roller Hawks the Team of the year and of course the magnificent Louise Sauvage who was named the Athlete of the 50 Years. We at WS NSW are looking forward to the next 50 years and are determined to keep our wheels rolling. We want to give special thanks to GIO for sponsoring this wonderful dinner, since without their support, nights like these wouldn’t be possible.
