The Wheelchair Basketball Illawarra Festival is an action packed five days. There are a range of competitions and divisions, with opportunities for everyone to be involved in the festival. 

Masters Tournament
Dates: TBC
Venue: Kiama Leisure Centre

A social but competitive wheelchair basketball competition for players over 40 years of age. A chance for both current and former players to get on court and have some fun. Both team and individual entries are accepted. Individual entries will be drafted into a team. Players over 50 years of age, will receive a 0.5 point reduction, players over 60, a 1.0 point reduction, and players over 70, a 1.5 point reduction. 

3x3 Tournament 
Dates: CANCELLED
Venue: Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre

2022 will be the first year that a 3x3 tournament is introduced into the Wheelchair Basketball Illawarra Festival. Both team and individual entries are accepted. 3x3 games are structured in 10 minute games, or first to 21 points - whichever comes first.

Slam Down Under
Dates: November 20th - November 21st 
Venue: Shellharbour City Stadium

The Slam Down Under will be divided into 3 divisions. Both team and individual entries are accepted.

Division 1 - is the elite competition played under the 14 point rule. Male, female and mixed teams are accepted. Athletes must be classified and capable of playing in the Basketball Australia men’s and women’s National Wheelchair Basketball Leagues or equivalent.

Division 2 - is the intermediate competition played under the 3/2 rule. Male, female and mixed teams are accepted. Athletes with a disability do not need to be officially classified. Athletes in this division are regular participants in wheelchair basketball and may compete at regional level.

Division 3 - is the beginner/social participation division. Male, female and mixed teams are encouraged. While this division is designed to be played under the 3/2 rule this may be altered by agreement of team managers prior to each match. Players in this division are new or returning players who do not necessarily take part in regular training or competition.

Number of matches and playing time are dependent on entry numbers. The draw will be released prior to the event.
