Code of Conduct

Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT have core values we expect all participants to hold during any activity held or sanctioned by Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT, a member association or an affiliated club:

- Dignity – We believe everyone has great value
- Tenacity – We fight fiercely for inclusion
- Resilience – We get up and go every day
- Camaraderie – We are in it together

You must meet the following requirements in regard to your conduct during any activity held or sanctioned by Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT, a member association or an affiliated club.
1. Respect the rights, dignity and worth of fellow players, coaches, officials, Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT staff and spectators.
2. Do not display aggressive behaviour, either physically or verbally.
3. Care for, and respect, the equipment provided as part of the program.
4. Conduct yourself in a professional manner relating to language, temper and punctuality.
5. Maintain high personal behaviour standards at all times.
6. Abide by the rules and respect the decision of the officials or Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT staff, making all appeals through the formal process and respecting the final decision.
7. Work equally hard for yourself and your team.
8. Cooperate with coaches and staff in development of programs to adequately prepare you for competition at the highest level.
9. Adhere to a strict zero tolerance policy on any discrimination of any type.
10. Respectfully share feedback about events or programs directly to Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT.
11. Represent Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT in a professional manner at all times and do not bring Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT into disrepute.

Terms and Conditions of Participation

I declare that I have read and agree to be bound by the conditions of registration below and that the details provided on the registration form are, to the best of my knowledge true and correct.

Definitions:

For the purpose of these Terms and Conditions the following words are defined as follows:

Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT mean all directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, contractors or any organisation appointed by Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT ;

Event means the Event for which the person is registering  for;

Participant means the person who has registered on this form or the person, on whose behalf, a parent or guardian is registering.

Rules, Regulations and Policies

By agreeing to these Terms of Participation the Participant:

a) agrees to be bound by the Code of Conduct of the Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT

b) Acknowledges that his or her failure to adhere to the Code of Conduct of Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT, may result in him, her or them being de-registered.

Assumption of Risk

By agreeing to the conditions set out in this Registration Application, the Participant acknowledges and agrees that:

a) Participating in sporting Events may result in physical injury occuring from time to time;

b) He, she or they is none the less desirous of participating in a sporting Event; and

c) He, she or they takes upon himself or herself the risk (both physical and legal) of injury arising in the course of participating in this sporting Event.

Limitation of Liability and Release

The Participant acknowledges and agrees that:

a) By accepting to bear the inherent risks of participating in a sporting Event, he, she or they, or their heirs, executors and administrators will not bring any claim or proceeding against Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT for any damage, loss or injury whatsoever that he, she or they may suffer from participation.

b) The Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT liability to you is limited to Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT supplying or resupplying any services to which you are entitled in accordance with the terms of this Agreement.

c) You understand that as a registered Participant in an Event you may be entitled to certain Sports Injury Insurance benefits subject to Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT’s level of cover.

Photographs

You consent to Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT using your name or image (including photograph) in any form or medium for general marketing and promotional activities.

Registration of Participants Under 18 Years of Age

Where the Participants is under 18 years of age, by completing this Registration Application, the Parent or Guardian of the Participant:

a) Acknowledges that he, she or they has read and explained the contents of this Registration Application to the Participant.

b) He, she or they consents to the Participant participating subject to the Terms and Conditions in this Registration Application.

c) Declares that the statements made in the Registration Application are to the best of his, her or their knowledge and belief true and correct.

Medical Treatment

The Participant acknowledges and agrees that:

a) He, she or they is physically fit and healthy to attend these Events;

b) consent to receiving medical treatment, which may be advisable in the Event of illness or injuries suffered by the Participant during this Event.

Cancellations

The Participant acknowledges and agrees that:

a) if the Event is cancelled more than 30 days prior to the date the Event was scheduled to run, Participants will receive a full refund excluding any specialty items organised for the Participant (such as apparel);

b) if the Event is cancelled less than 30 days prior to the date the Event was scheduled to run, due to unforeseen circumstances, such as extreme weather conditions, pandemics, Participants will receive a refund less any expense incurred by Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT and any specialty items organised for the Participant (such as apparel);

c) if the Participant wants to cancel their registration more than 30 days prior to the date the Event was scheduled to run, Participants will receive a full refund excluding any specialty items organised for the Participant (such as apparel);

d) if the Participant wants to cancel their registration less than 30 days and more than 14 days prior to the date the Event was scheduled to run, Participants will receive a 50% refund excluding any specialty items organized for the Participant (such as apparel);

e) if the Participant wants to cancel their registration less than 14 days prior to the date the Event was scheduled to run, no refund will be issued.
