Athlete Grants

To support our athletes to take advantage of every sporting opportunity available to them, we run an annual Athlete Grant Program.

Our Athlete and Junior Members are eligible for grants that can be used to subsidise sport related expenses such as entry fees, equipment and transport for events in our 9 managed sports.

There are three levels of Members Grants:

Level 1: Elite - National Representative (up to $450)

Level 2: Emerging - State Representative (up to $300)

Level 3: Developing Competitor (up to $200)

Grant Applications for 2024/2025 will open in May 2024.

Applications for the 2024-25 round will open in May 2024.  Keep an eye out on this page for more information on how to apply.

Eligibility

REMINDER: If you were successful in the 2023/2024 grant round, all funding must be expended by 30 June 2024.

Australian Sports Commission: Local Sporting Champions 
This program aims to provide financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships.
Round 4: Opens 1 Feb 2024; Closes 30 April 2024.

Australian Sports Commission: Compensation Grant Program
This program aims to provide financial support to Paralympians whose Disability Support Pension (DSP) payments have been affected due to travelling outside Australia for training and/or competitions exceeding the general travel allowance of 28 days in a financial year.

Youngcare's At Home Care Grants: February 2024 National Round
Grants of up to $10,000 are available for people aged 16-65 with permanent high physical care needs who require funding for equipment, home modifications and essential support. 
Applications open: 14 February 2024 and close 4pm 27 March 2024.

Variety NSW/ACT The Children's Charity
Variety provides up to 300 scholarships worth $5,000 to young people living in NSW and ACT, and who are excelling in their particular field of talent. The scholarships can ease the cost of attending competitions (flights, accommodation etc), coaching, equipment and a range of other things related to the young person’s talent.
Applications open 1 May 2024 and close 31 May 2024.
