Wheelchair AFL State Championships 2026

The second ever Wheelchair AFL State Championships, will be an action packed weekend of the highest level of Wheelchair AFL in the NSW and the ACT. 

Date: Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of August 2026

Time: 9:30am- 4pm Saturday and 9am- 1pm Sunday

Where: Disability Sports Centre, Blacktown- 81 Eastern Rd, Rooty Hill NSW 2766

This event offers selected players the opportunity to compete at the highest level of Wheelchair AFL in NSW and the ACT, representing one of four teams: Sydney Swans Red, Sydney Swans White, GWS Giants Orange, and GWS Giants Grey. Teams will first compete in a series of lightning matches, followed by standard-format games and finals on Sunday.

The Championships also serve as one of the official selection events for the NSW/ACT Rolling Rams, who will represent the region at the 2026 Toyota AFL Open

The classification system will be in place, with a maximum of 17 points allowed on the court at any one time—mirroring the structure used at the Toyota AFL Open. If you don't have a Wheelchair AFL classification, can you please give your Wheelchair Basketball classification if you have one.

Note: Players are responsible for arranging their own accommodation if they plan to stay in Sydney over the weekend.

Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT will be hosting a group dinner on Saturday, the 15th, which all participants are welcome to attend, Venue TBC.
